ABOUT AMAZING BRAIDS

I'm Vicki Williams, the founder of Amazing Braids, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I specialize in the techniques of Kumihimo braiding and the use of metal clay to create one-of-a-kind custom jewelry and keepsakes for horse owners and those who wish to honor the spirit of their equine friends.

As a horse owner for more than 40 years, I recognize the special connection made with our equine friends.  My jewelry is designed as a custom collaboration with you, to honor your specific requirements and evoke your special spiritual relationship with your horse.

I began my journey as a jeweler in the 1970's taking courses in design, construction, metalsmithing, and casting from the University of Colorado. After a 40-year career in Planning and Cultural Resources Management, I retired in 2019 and have devoted my time to creating horsehair keepsakes for friends and clients. Seeking a more "science-based" approach to design, I discovered that using Pythagorean Numerology helped bridge the gap between a desire to use numbers to express the human/equine bond and journey through life.

That led me to Kumihimo braiding, which entails movement of strands in a specific sequence around a disk. I now use basic numerology to determine the number of horsehairs per strand to balance the equine's spirit with the human's spirit. The creation of unique metal clay jewelry using numerology also captures the spirit of the client and preserves special memories. â€‹â€‹
